Februccio Lamborghini made his fortune by buying military vehicles and converting them into tractors after the war. This was very succesful for 11 years when Lamborghini started producing air conditioning units and burners. Lamborghini's empire was growing and decided to branch out, manufacturing something which was one of his passions. Helicopters. This was halted due to the Italian government refusing to grant him a license. However, due to his expertise in manaufacturing and machines, he tried his hand at making cars.
Since 1998, Volkswagen have owned Lamborghini, taking the successful Diablo model, and competely reshaping and breathing new life into it. From there came the two new models we see on the market today, the Gallardo and it's big brother, the Murcielago.
